Mission Statement
Paths to Wellness is an inter-professional group of students dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of members of the surrounding community. We counsel patients through individualized, integrative sessions on health-related topics such as nutrition, stress management, sleep, movement and exercise. Together, we envision a future of healthcare that is as dedicated to the promotion of health and well-being as it is to the curing and healing of disease.
What is Paths to Wellness?
Paths to Wellness is a unique program run by Wright State medical and psychology students at the Open Arms Clinic. Every second Saturday of the month, we offer free, private sessions with our students to help you answer questions you have about your health and learn how you can make simple changes for a healthier lifestyle. We even offer online appointments through Doxy.me, a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform for those with barriers to transportation.
We also offer free community wellness workshops once a month at 9:30 a.m. at the BellHOP cafe. Note flyer at the bottom of the page for this semester's info.
What can Paths to Wellness teach me?
Whether you want to learn how you can get better sleep or simple ways to reduce your stress, we can help. Our students are trained to provide counseling on stress reduction, nutrition, exercise, sleep, and other health-related topics. Come talk with us- we are here to assist you!
What is Paths to Wellness NOT?
Paths to Wellness is NOT a medical clinic. We will not be diagnosing or treating any medical conditions during these sessions. The purpose of Paths to Wellness is to provide you with free counseling on health-related topics and address questions you may have about how to change your lifestyle or adopt healthier habits. If you need to see a doctor for a medical problem, please click on "Services" above or visit our medical clinic on Tuesday evenings.
How can I participate in the program?
Call the office to schedule an appointment at 937-848-2939. Paths to Wellness sessions occur one Saturday of every month and 1-hour appointments are available from 9 am to noon with the option for an in-person or online visit through Doxy, our HIPAA-compliant platform. Our receptionist is available to schedule appointments on Tuesday evenings and every first and third Friday of the month (when the office is open). Otherwise, please leave a message, and we will return your call as soon as possible.
